FYI

When I got your text it reminded me I always hear your voice. Whenever I read a text or email from you it always feels like you are saying it. Hope you have as much fun as I think you will, what a special moment.

It is Fair To Say

It is fair to say I am excited for you all and that I feel left out. Might sound strange to some, but I think you'll get it. If memory serves you said the same thing to me last year.

Never imagined it would be like it is. Never imagined it would be like it was. Never imagined a lot of things but that doesn't mean I don't imagine other stuff either.

Sunday Afternoon Activities

I don't know about you, but I could go for some Sunday afternoon activities.

Sometimes

Sometimes I think about really writing here again and sometimes I figure it can wait.

Almost Time

I imagine you are really starting to get a little crazed trying to  put together the last few pieces. The time has almost come, hard to believe the day is almost here.

I am sure it will be wonderful.

No Love Letter Today

No love letter today. Maybe a different day if you are lucky and deserving. Maybe you'll earn it back. :)

Love Is a Burning Thing

Dearest June,

Well woman as usual I seem to have trouble staying irritated with you. It is unusual for me because most of the time it is easy for me to stay pissed off, don't even have to think about it.

Like nudniks who think inserting their pearls of wisdom here, well they get my attention in ways that don't serve anyone. I make a note of such things and add a little post it note for later. Apparently I have mellowed a bit because the guy you first met would have gone after the slug who thought they were invited to visit.

Anyhoo, I don't give free rent in my head to them so that is all I'll say. Instead I'll share a quote I came across:
“Love is an untamed force. When we try to control it, it destroys us. When we try to imprison it, it enslaves us. When we try to understand it, it leaves us feeling lost and confused.”
― Paulo Coelho
I love that. It is one of the most sensible things I have read about something that makes so little sense because love is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever encountered.

Maybe it is because I really do feel like I have two sides to me. There is the science and logic guy and there is the other man who looks at science guy and laughs.

Not because he doesn't believe in it but because he believes there are things that fall outside of logic and reason and that we can't apply science to those things in the standard ways we want to.

Maybe there is a tool or method that we can use to make sense. Maybe such a thing exists but we haven't discovered it yet.

In the interim using the standard methods just adds to the craziness.

So I find that I am happiest when straddle the two sides and try to be some sort or meld or alloy between them.

I remember a conversation we had about writing and math that ties into this a bit. We talked about natural ability and touched upon whether practice allows us to improve our skills. If I remember it accurately we said that some things were beyond us, didn't matter how much practice we had at painting we weren't going to be a master.

We also talked about how we see things in our heads and how that is tied into this. We see how the words or numbers fit into the giant puzzle. Well, when it comes to stories and people I see how things fit and I don't limit myself to only seeing what is presented.

Sometimes that is because people say one thing and do another. Sometimes it happens even when their actions reflect their words because I sense something else behind it. All I know is that I pay attention to tactile but feel the influence of the unseen and unspoken.

I stopped trying to control a lot of things and now I just take it as it comes.

The Nudnik

Wonder if the nudnik will make another attempt to stick their nose where it doesn't belong or if they understand the consequences of their actions.

Was quite the day here.

Vision

Some people let the fog obscure their vision and instead of walking forward they stand on the sidelines and shout warnings at those who move forward. There is a time and a place for caution but there is also a time and place for movement.

I choose to step into the fog to gain a clearer picture of what lies ahead because I like making informed decisions. It has always served me well and how I have made progress.

“Everything tells me that I am about to make a wrong decision, but making mistakes is just part of life. What does the world want of me? Does it want me to take no risks, to go back to where I came from because I didn't have the courage to say "yes" to life?”
― Paulo Coelho, Eleven Minutes

“When I had nothing to lose, I had everything. When I stopped being who I am, I found myself.”
― Paulo Coelho, Eleven Minutes

"I'm restless. Things are calling me away. My hair is being pulled by stars again." ~Anais Nin

Some people run from change and some run towards it. Don't know what is possible until you try. I choose trying over thinking and doing over just being.

Somewhere along the way that will intersect with the place I want to end up. I see possibility and strive to make it opportunity.

Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. Either way I sleep well at night.

Things To Remember

  1. I don't put on sweaters because other people are cold.
  2. I don't listen to angry monkeys who are in need of my banana.
  3. I don't care.
  4. I don't listen to nonsense.
  5. I know things.
If you are lucky you can catch me passing by on 30 or find me stuck in traffic on 35.

And to the visitors-- nice to see you again. Did you find what you are looking for.
